Horrific footage has been released of pigs being violently abused at a British farm. This should be enough to make anyone who sees this appalling footage to eliminate meat from their diets indefinitely.

An undercover investigation by Animal Equality produced the difficult-to-watch-and-listen-to video, that was taken at Fir Tree Farm in Lincolnshire, which is owned by The Godfrey family, along with the company Elsham Linc LTD, one of Britain’s largest pig producers.

Warning, Graphic Footage Here!

After receiving an anonymous tip, the investigation, which took place during April of this year, revealed serious and repeated violent abuse of the animals by numerous members of staff with four having been fired as a result of the video.

Fir Tree Farm holds an estimated 10,000 of these innocent animals, many which were shown being kicked in the face and head, jabbed with the tines of a mucking out fork, having their heads slammed on gates, and being hit in the face and head with heavy plastic boards; all while workers laughed and swore at them.

“They displayed utter contempt for the animals in their care,” the narrator states in the video over the sound of wailing pigs seething in pain. “Showing complete disregard for their suffering.”

The video also documented dozens of pigs with severe tail biting wounds, some critically infected, as well as many heavily scarred pigs and several with hernias.

Animal Equality has passed all of the evidence to the RSPCA, which is currently investigating.

Consumers can help end this cruelty by trying the increasing variety of plant-based foods available in stores and restaurants, which are cruelty-free and often healthier than meat.

This is the third time that Animal Equality has filmed workers violently abusing animals on British farms. In 2016, a worker on Pyrland dairy farm in Somerset was filmed slamming newborn calves to the floor and kicking cows in the face just hours after they had given birth. He pled guilty to two cruelty charges in April 2017. In 2012, two workers were filmed beating piglets to death with a metal bar on Harling Farm in Norfolk. Both men pled guilty to cruelty charges and one was sent to prison for 18 weeks.

This is beyond heartbreaking on so many levels. As always, WAN strongly encourages people to adopt a plant-based lifestyle to stop this unnecessary suffering.
