Breaking! Idaho Fish & Game Commissioner, Blake Fischer, Urged To Resign After He Shares Repulsive Photos Of Him With A Family Of Baboons He Killed In Africa

Photos from Idaho governor’s office obtained by the Idaho Statesman

An Idaho Fish and Game commissioner has outraged animal advocates around the world after he shared heartless and heinous photos of himself proudly posing with animals, including a whole family of baboons, that he killed on a recent hunting trip to Africa.

The smile on Blake Fischer’s face as he displays the dead baboons, is appalling. How some people can take pleasure from killing innocent animals, many which are near extinction, is unfathomable.

According to information that the Idaho Statesman obtained from the governor’s office, the fallout began with an email that Fischer sent to more than 100 people last month, boasting about the trip during which he and his wife killed at least 14 animals, including a giraffe and a leopard.

Comedian Ricky Gervais is among those using their voice for the voiceless, calling Fischer “pathetic” on his Twitter account with the hashtag #BanTrophyHunting.

“We all know game hunters are big cowards and the scum of the earth,” Tom Arnold stated on his Twitter account, further noting that Fischer’s photos will now make “every man, woman, child, and pet in Idaho sleep with one eye open.

For his part, Fischer is reportedly claiming that he did nothing wrong and is an ethical hunter.

Past and present Idaho Fish and Game commissioners are also calling for Fischer, who resides in Meridian, Idaho, to resign from his post as the commissioner representing the Southwest Region.

Idaho Governor C.L. “Butch” Otter’s spokesperson Jon Hanian, said that the Governor is aware of the pictures and his office is “looking into it.”

Commissioners are appointed by the Governor and confirmed by the Idaho State Senate.

As per the commission’s website, Fischer’s appointment ends on June 30, 2022.

Not Soon Enough!

“I’m sure what you did was legal, however, legal does not make it right,” said former commissioner Fred Trevey, in an email to Fischer requesting that he resigns.

Fischer should resign or be removed from the commission immediately, regardless of if his horrific hunting of innocent animals was legal, WHICH IT SHOULD NOT BE!

A petition that has been created urging Fischer’s dismissal can be signed HERE!

Idaho Governor C.L. “Butch” Otter can be reached (208) 334-2100 or by email at Governor@gov.idaho.gov.

The phone number for the Idaho Fish and Game’s headquarters is (208) 334-3700 and the office for the Southwest Region is (208) 465-8465.
