Breaking News! The Circus Is Finally Over In Italy!!!

WAN is very excited to report that Italy is the next country that has voted to ban all animals in circuses.

This is a milestone following several other humane countries and cities who have vowed to make the same decision that wild animals belong protected in the wild and not exploited for entertainment.

Major cities such as: Los Angeles, New York City and Portland have also made the humane decision to ban wild animals in circuses.

In May of 2017, Ringling Bros and Barnum & Bailey Circus annoucend that it would finally end their so-called “Greatest Show on Earth” after a 150-year run. Ringling blamed a drop in attendance and pressure from animal rights groups to stop using elephants in their circus acts as the reason for closing.

Italy follows the latest country, India, that has also made the groundbreaking decision to choose a humane future for animals who are enslaved in circuses, and there are many more.

According to Peta, the rest of the countries who have introduced or implemented bans on circuses that use wild animals are: Austria, Bolivia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Colombia, Costa Rica, Croatia, Cyprus, El Salvador, Greece, Malta, Mexico, Paraguay, Peru, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, Romania, Iran and the Netherlands who are ahead of the game. We hope that the entire U.S. and the rest of the world is next.

According to Express UK, The rules on how Italy will implement phasing out all animals used in circuses will be set out within one year by a Ministerial decree.

There are 100 circuses in Italy and an average of 2,000 animals forced to perform in shows across the mediterranean nation.

Peace 4 Animals & WAN founder Katie Cleary is thrilled that this crucial legislation has been passed in Italy and that lawmakers have voted to choose compassion as the next step for future generations to learn from. The time is now to change our world for the better and spread peace for all living beings, especially in the times that we are living in. Italy is one more country that is thinking progressively and there are many more to go. We must keep fighting for a humane future for all of God’s creatures.

Bravo Italy!!!
