Breaking! WAN Updates On Evacuations Of Fast-Moving Saddleridge Fire In Southern California

The Saddleridge Fire is the latest fire to break out in Southern California. The fast-moving brush fire that began late Thursday in Sylmar amid strong Santa Ana winds, grew to 7,500 acres by Friday afternoon.

More than 23,000 homes are under mandatory evacuation, with at least 100,000 people being affected. Tragically, one civilian has died and one firefighter has been injured. The fire is currently 13% contained.

The fire has already destroyed a number of homes and mandatory evacuations have been issued for tens of thousands of people, closing portions of at least three major freeways.

Around 1,000 firefighters from multiple agencies have been battling the blaze as of Friday morning.
