Assembly Bill 485, The Pet Rescue and Adoption Act, is a landmark bill authored by Assembly Members Patrick O’Donnell and Matt Dababneh, which saves animals’ lives and stands up to the cruelty of puppy mills. The legislation would replace puppy mill animals by adopting out dogs, cats and rabbits from local animal shelters and rescue groups in retail pet stores statewide.

Our group, Social Compassion In Legislation is honored to be sponsoring this important legislation. AB 485 will be a gigantic step forward in solving the state’s pet overpopulation crisis and will shut the door to the socially unacceptable cruelty of mill-bred animals.

AB 485 will be heard on April 18, 2017 in the Assembly Business and Professions Committee.

You can help all animals and our planet by choosing compassion on your plate and in your glass. #GoVeg
