Last week, a small dog was pierced with two arrows, one in its shoulder and one in its neck, by a dog meat hunter in China, but is now making a remarkable recovery.
After being hit with the arrows, the dog was reportedly rushed to Chengdu’s Qimin Small Animal Protection by a witness who saw the badly injured and traumatized dog.
The Guardians of Chinese Animal Protection said in a Facebook post; “The suffering of the dog angered millions of animal lovers in China. In the last 12 hours, thousands of people asked about the dog. The dog was also in the prayers of animal lovers around the world.”
The dog is being treated at a shelter which is home to over 1000 cats and dogs who have been violently abused and have suffered at the hands of dog meat hunters in China.
“The dog meat trade is the source of suffering of millions of dogs and tens of millions of animal lovers in China,” Guardians of Chinese Animal Protection said.
“China can never be a world leader if this barbaric trade is not outlawed.”
The Guardians of Chinese Animal Protection’s mission is to shut down illegal animal slaughterhouses across the country.
