Fosters Needed For Some 232 Domestic & Farm Animals Recently Rescued From “Inhumane”Conditions At A Farm In Pennsylvania

In another heartbreaking case of animal cruelty, 232animals were rescued recently from a farm in Summit Township, Pennsylvania. Sadly, many deceased animals were also found in a burn pile on the back of the property.
The living conditions at the property referred to as, Liz and George Farms were determined to be inhumane, as said in a statement sent to WAN from the Erie State Police Department. WAN talked to Trooper Andrew Hacke who explained that as far as he knows, investigators are working with the District Attorney’s office on the charges that may be placed against the owners of the farm.
Dogs, cats, pot bellied pigs, ducks, geese, chickens, and pigeons were among the animals that were saved from the property and are now under the care of The ANNA Shelter, a nonprofit organization that helped with the massive rescue operation.
“All of the animals have received or are still receiving necessary medical care. Two have had emergency surgeries. All are now parasite free; have full bellies; get lots of love and attention; and sleep in warm, clean beds,” the organization shared in a post on its Facebook page. They also noted that #TEAMANNA has worked nonstop to care for these animals and is grateful for the “wonderfully supportive and generous donations of dog and puppy chow and farm foul feed being delivered by the pounds!”
While some of the farm animals have already moved into foster homes, there are many more needing to be placed. Dogs and puppies are expected to become available to fosters next week once they are released by the organization’s vets.
The ANNA Shelter first released the news about the rescue on October 9th, sharing that a warrant had been served by the State Police after sharing a video it had received of the horrendous conditions that animals suffering on the property were forced to endure.
“To say I am proud is an understatement,” stated a post on The ANNA Shelter Facebook page. “Thankful, grateful for #TEAMANNA and for the State Troopers that pulled this together so quickly and to the brave soul who sent in the video. Most importantly, ALL OF THE ANIMALS are now safe with us and are receiving the necessary medical care under our wonderful veterinarians.”
