Help Needed As International Aid For The Protection & Welfare of Animals (IAPWA) Saves 9 More Dogs From The Dog Meat Trade In The Philippines!

Last week, UK non-profit International Aid for the Protection & Welfare of Animals (IAPWA) successfully rescued more animals as it completed its 5th closure within the dog meat trade in the Philippines.

“YOU HELPED SAVED THEM. CAN YOU SUPPORT THEIR RECOVERY?” IAPWA noted on its Facebook page yesterday while referring to the animals the organization, Animal Kingdom Foundation (AKF), and the Philippine National Police rescued after a stakeout and raid of a dog meat trade operation in the Philippines.

Sadly, one dog passed away shortly after arrival but the remaining eight, who were all destined for slaughter, are now safe and receiving the support they need to recover from this horrific ordeal.

“These dogs will need a lot of rehabilitation and are with other dog meat trade survivors from previous raids and a team experienced in dealing with this kind of trauma,” continued IAPWA noting that it began its partnership with AKF in September of 2017. “This is a highly complex project with lots of work going into each raid carried out and with your support, we can continue closing down these traders, one by one until no dog in the Philippines has to suffer at their hands.”

This most recent operation, which took place on June 6th in Rio Chico, General Tinio, Nueva Ecija, also resulted in the arrest of two alleged dog meat traders who are now in jail as a result of this illegal and cruel industry.
