Breaking! Marc Ching & Shannen Doherty In D.C. This Morning To End The Slaughter Of Dogs & Cats For Human Consumption In The U.S.

This morning’s congressional briefing in D.C. hosted by Congressman Alcee L. Hastings (D-FL-20), actress Shannen Doherty, Marc Ching, Founder of Animal Hope and Wellness Foundation (AHWF), Valarie Ianniello AHWF Executive Director and Nick Sackett, attorney of Social Compassion in Legislation (SCIL), discussing their new bill introduced by Congressman Hastings that will protect dogs and cats from slaughter for human consumption in the United States.

The Dog and Cat Meat Trade Prohibition Act  will prohibit any person to knowingly ship, transport, move, deliver, receive, possess, purchase, sell, or donate a dog or cat to be slaughtered for human consumption; or dog or cat parts for human consumption.

Sadly, it is legal to eat dogs and cats in 44 states in the U.S. Only California, New York, Virginia, Michigan, Georgia and Hawaii have legislation in place to regulate the slaughter of dogs and cats for human consumption.
