Peace 4 Animals & WAN Host Special Evening In Honor Of The International Anti-Poaching Foundation And Its All-Female Task Force

Peace 4 Animals and WAN had the opportunity to host a special event honoring the remarkable Damien Mander, founder of the International Anti-Poaching Foundation (IAPF), along with Vimbai Kumire, leader of the Akashinga all female anti-poaching unit based in Zimbabwe, Africa.

The inspired gathering included compelling conversations about “The Brave Ones” who make up Mander’s unprecedented task force of once-disadvantaged women from local communities and their fearless work on the ground protecting some of Africa’s most endangered species.

Akashinga meaning “The Brave Ones” is a community-driven conservation program, empowering disadvantaged women to restore and manage networks of wilderness areas to stop illegal wildlife crime.

Akashinga has already arrested a staggering 80 armed poachers in the past year.

Kumire, the powerful team’s squad leader, shared her personal story of compassion and growth with attendees before being presented with the Peace 4 Animals and WAN 2019 Bravery Award.

The private event took place at Crossroads Kitchen in West Hollywood, California, where animal advocates also enjoyed vegan cuisine and beverages.

People are encouraged to donate to the International Anti-Poaching Foundation to help Mander and Akashinga continue their critical life-saving work on behalf of our endangered wildlife HERE!

You can help all animals and our planet by choosing compassion on your plate and in your glass. #GoVeg
