Pizza Hut Launches New Vegan Cheese Pizza Throughout The UK

Yesterday marked the last day Pizza Hut tested vegan cheese from Violife at five of its locations in the UK.

Now, as per, following a successful eight-week trial in Canterbury, Crawley, Bluewater, Thanet, and Chatham, Pizza Hut is reportedly planning to offer the dairy-free alternative to real cheese at all of its locations throughout the country.

According to the brand, the cheese, which base is coconut oil and contains vitamin B12, is void of any dairy, soy, gluten, lactose, nuts and preservatives.

Many people are now shying away from animal-based foods because of the inherent cruelty on many factory farms, the devastating impact animal agriculture has on the environment, and for health reasons.

Farm Animal Rights Movement (FARM) was among the animal welfare organizations advocating for the pizza chain to offer a plant-based cheese option.

“As the popularity of plant-based cheese continues to grow, consumers are demanding options that don’t come with a side of cruelty,” said FARM Grassroots Activation Manager, Hayden Hamilton Hall. “Plus, cheese that is made from plants has no saturated fat or cholesterol, so it is way better for our health!”

Pizza Hut is the latest pizza company to respond to the growing demand for plant-based options. Pizza Pizza, PizzaRev, MOD, ZPizza, Pieology and California Pizza Kitchen are among the eateries already offering vegan pizza.

Dominos, which currently sells vegan cheese pizza in Israel, recently announced it will extend its offering in Australia beginning next year well.
