In yet another heartbreaking case of unwarranted animal abuse that turned fatal, an “ailing” pit bull was horrifically thrown to his death in Seattle by an unknown man in a purple minivan.

The tragic event happened on September 24th, 2017. The sick animal abuser that took the innocent life of a pit bull between four and six years of age remains at large.

Abandoning an animal or failing to provide it medical care are crimes punishable by up to five years in prison, a $10,000 fine, or both, according to the Seattle Times.

The newspaper also stated a witness described the person in the minivan as a heavyset man with dreadlocks.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Don Baxter of the Seattle Animal Shelter at 206-386-4288 and reference case number C04542592.

While the Humane Society is offering a reward of up to $5,000.00 for information leading to the arrest of the individual responsible for this Seattle dog’s death, the Care2 community believes more needs to be done.

The Animal Legal Defense Fund lists Washington as having some of the best animal cruelty laws in the United States, but sadly, animal abuse is not always taken as seriously as it should be.

People are encouraged to sign the petition urging Seattle Chief of Police Kathleen O’Toole and other officials to address this glaring case of animal abuse and ensure that this alleged perpetrator, as well as others who perform such callous acts of animal cruelty are held accountable to the fullest extent of the law, HERE!
