Below are a few tasty human food treats to spice up your dog’s plate and give him/her an extra dose of vitamins.
1. Peanut butter: This tasty snack is a good source of protein, and also contains heart-healthy fats, vitamin E, vitamin B, and niacin.
Be sure to choose raw, unsalted peanut butter. WARNING: Do not feed your dog sugar-free or “lite” peanut butter, as it contains artificial sweeteners including xylitol, which is highly toxic to dogs.
2. Baby carrots: Carrots are great for a dog’s teeth, and are also high in fiber and vitamin A.
3. Green beans: Select beans with no added salt. These are great snacks as they are low in calories.
4. Pumpkin: Great treat for your dog as it aides digestion.
5. Apple slices: This fruit is a good source of fiber, as well as vitamins C and A, and also help clean a dog’s teeth, ultimately resulting in fresher breath. Be sure to not give your dog seeds or a core to prevent choking.
