Urgent Call To Action To Oppose Bill That Would Allow Alligator & Crocodile Breeders To Resume Torture For Skins

ATTENTION ANIMAL LOVERS!

WE NEED TO OPPOSE A BILL THAT WOULD CHANGE EXISTING STATE LAW THAT PROTECTS ALLIGATORS & CROCODILES FROM 1970

LOUISIANA ALLIGATOR & CROCODILE BREEDERS and HUNTERS HAVE HIRED LOBBYISTS TO REPEAL CALIFORNIA LAW AND WE MUST STOP THEM!

LET’S KILL AB 527 (VOEPEL) AND SAVE ALLIGATORS AND CROCODILES

WE NEED YOUR CALLS! PLEASE CALL NO LATER THAN THE CLOSE OF THE BUSINESS DAY ON MONDAY 3/25

California originally banned the sale of alligator and crocodile back in 1970. In 2006, the State of Louisiana along with the crocodile and alligator breeders and hunters got a temporary exemption signed into law under Governor Schwartzeneggar. That exemption would last until Jan. 1, 2010. However, they came back to California and got the legislature to extend that exemption until January 1, 2020.

Now, the clock is ticking down, and guess what…they’re back! They have hired several lobbying firms to convince our state legislature once again to not only extend the exemption, but repeal the ban completely.

We must fight back, and fight back now. Help us defend and restore California’s historic protections for these animals.

IF YOU NEED TO KNOW MORE ON WHY TO BE OPPOSED TO THIS, CLICK HERE TO WATCH A VIDEO REGARDING THEIR INDUSTRY.

In 2014, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) sent undercover investigators into factories in Zimbabwe and Texas that supply Hermes with their crocodile and alligator skins. Video footage shows employees cutting into their bodies while they are fully conscious, sawing into the back of their necks with a box cutter to sever their blood vessels and stabbing them in an attempt to dislocate their vertebrae during the drawn-out slaughtering process. Investigators documented crocodiles bleeding out and writhing in agony for several minutes. California took a stand in 1970, and we need to maintain it!

MAKE A CALL TODAY AND URGE A “NO” VOTE ON AB 527!
