Walter Palmer, Cowardly Killer Of Cecil The Lion, Has Boat Stolen And Crashed

Marco Island, FL.-Walter Palmer, the American dentist best-known for the cowardly killing of Cecil the lion, is experiencing a loss after his $61K boat was stolen. Andrew Derwin, Palmer’s neighbor, was arrested for the theft, which resulted in him crashing Palmer’s boat of Caxambas Pass.

Marco Island Fire Rescue and Collier County EMS performed first aid upon being called to the crash. Derwin’s passenger, Nicolas Stolinas, experienced serious injuries when struck by the vessel’s propeller.

Derwin took the keys to the boat from the rear lanai of Palmer’s home on Sunday. The keys were left there for a boat maintenance person by a woman who watches over Palmer’s residency.

Derwin has previously been arrested 13 times, and has been charged with driving under the influence, forgery and fleeing from law enforcement. His bail is set at $10,000.

Walter Palmer made headlines last July after luring Cecil the lion away from Hwange National Park in Zimbabwe in order to kill him as a trophy hunt.

His home in Marco Island was vandalized last August.
