WAN’s Most Wanted: Can You Help Identify 3 Men That UK Police Want To Question About Cockfighting Ring?

The cockfighting photo from RSPCA does include birds from this case. Photos of the three men wanted for questioning are from the North Yorkshire Police Department.

Four men, ranging in age from 23-years-old to 53-years-old have been charged with multiple offenses linked to an alleged cockfighting ring that was busted as part of a joint investigation by North Yorkshire Police and the RSPCA in January of this year.

The four men, from the Durham and Northumberland areas, have been charged with causing an animal fight to take place; keeping or training a cock for use in connection with an animal fight; as well as being present at an animal fight without lawful authority or a reasonable excuse.

The 29-year-old man has also been charged with keeping premises for use for an animal fight at a rural location in the Hambleton district of North Yorkshire as well as for being present at animal fights on other occasions.

Today, officers are requesting the public’s help in tracking down three additional men who may have pertinent information in connection with the ongoing investigation.

“If you recognize these men, please contact North Yorkshire Police, as they may have important information that could assist the investigation,” Sergeant Kevin Kelly, from North Yorkshire Police’s Rural Taskforce, said in a statement that was accompanied by photos of the men in question.

“Please dial 101, select option 2 and ask for the Rural Taskforce, or email ruraltaskforce@northyorkshire.pnn.police.uk, quoting reference number 12180007024.”

As per the police department’s website, their 101 call service should be used to contact the police on a non-emergency basis that does not require immediate attention.

To contact North Yorkshire Police from outside the force area, call 01904 618691.

If you are calling the department from outside the UK, call +44 1904 618691.

Make sure you dial the international prefix first (so in most European countries, dial 00 44 1904 618691, or in North America, dial 011 44 1904 618691).

Alternatively, people can also contact the independent charity Crimestoppers UK anonymously on 0800 555 111 or via their Anonymous Online Form HERE!
