Influencer “Clavicular” Charged Following Disturbing Everglades Alligator Shooting Livestream
Social media influencer Braden Eric Peters, known online as “Clavicular,” has been charged in Florida following a disturbing video that appeared to show gunfire directed at an alligator in the Everglades.
According to reports, Peters and two others were charged with unlawfully discharging a firearm in a public place following the March incident inside the Francis S. Taylor Wildlife Management Area in South Florida.
The livestream rapidly spread across social media, triggering widespread outrage and renewed criticism over dangerous online behavior involving wildlife to gain views and online attention.
Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission officials launched an investigation after the footage surfaced online. If convicted, Peters and the other individuals involved could face up to one year in jail.
Peters has also faced multiple other legal issues in recent months. He was reportedly arrested twice earlier this year on unrelated charges, including an arrest in Arizona in February 2026 and another arrest in Florida in March 2026.
Attorneys representing Peters have reportedly claimed that no animals were harmed during the incident.
The Everglades are home to countless species already under pressure from habitat destruction, pollution, and increasing human activity. Conservationists warn that reckless conduct involving wildlife not only risks harm to animals, but also normalizes dangerous behavior for millions of viewers online.
Animal advocates are now calling for stronger wildlife protections and tougher penalties for anyone accused of exploiting or terrorizing animals for entertainment or viral social media content. Wildlife should never be harmed or harassed for clicks, views, or online fame.
A hearing related to the Everglades incident is reportedly scheduled for May 20.
