Happy Earth Day 2021; Ways You Can Help Protect, Replenish & Restore Our Planet Today & Every Day!

Earth Day launched on April 22nd, 1970, mobilizing an estimated 20 million people to demand environmental action and change. Today, according to EarthDay.org, more than “one billion people in 192 countries” participate in Earth Day activities around the world each year.

While many advances have been made in protecting our planet and the sentient beings that call it home, there is still much more work that needs to be done. With an estimated 8 billion people throughout the world, imagine what can be accomplished if we all do our part by making mindful compassionate choices to help protect our planet every day.

One of the simplest yet most effective ways that individuals can help protect our environment is to choose a plant-based diet. As noted by Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine, researchers have found that “food production is responsible for up to 30% of total greenhouse gas emissions, with animal products accounting for the vast majority—about three-quarters—of these effects.” This can be greatly reduced by eliminating the consumption of animal products.

Here are other ways that you can help protect our planet and its species:

  • Plant A Tree

  • Use reusable bags

  • Read labels and only use eco-friendly cleaning supplies

  • Don’t use single-use plastic

  • Purchase recycled paper products

  • Go paperless by paying bills online

  • Conserve Water

  • Pick up trash around your neighborhood

  • Reduce your carbon footprint by riding a bike, walking, or driving an electric vehicle

  • Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle

There are countless ways that we can make the world a better and healthier place now and for future generations, not only on Earth Day, but every day!

You can help all animals and our planet by choosing compassion on your plate and in your glass. #GoVeg
