McDonald’s USA Expands McPlant Burger Launch To Include 600 Locations In San Francisco & Dallas Fort-Worth

McDonald’s USA recently announced that it is expanding their McPlant burger launch to select restaurants in the San  Francisco Bay and Dallas-Fort Worth areas to further gauge customer demand.

Beginning on February 14th, the burger which features a patty made from plant-based ingredients like peas, rice, and potatoes and was co-developed with Beyond Meat, will be available  at  approximately 600 participating locations in these two markets for a limited time, while supplies last. 

The delicious new version of its plant-based burger featuring Beyond Meat launched in November of 2021 at McDonald’s locations in: Irving and Carrollton, Texas; Cedar Falls, Iowa; Jennings and Lake Charles, Louisiana; and El Segundo and Manhattan Beach, California.

As previously reported by WAN, in February of last year, Beyond Meat Inc. announced the establishment of a three-year global strategic agreement with McDonald’s Corporation.

As part of the agreement, Beyond Meat will be the preferred supplier for the patty that it co-developed with McDonald’s

Last year, the McPlant burger was also introduced in numerous international markets including: Sweden, Denmark, the Netherlands, and Austria. Most recently, it also launched in the U.K.

In 2019, WAN announced McDonald’s entry into the plant-based arena, testing its first plant-based burger, the P.L.T., which stands for Plant, Lettuce, and Tomato. Also in partnership with Beyond Meat, the P.L.T. launched in 28 restaurants in Southwestern Ontario, Canada.
