Panda Express has started a countdown to the July 26th launch of its newest menu option, teasing that “something new is coming.”

According to a statement on Beyond Meat’s website, the companies co-developed the Beyond The Original Orange Chicken, a vegan version of one of the restaurant’s most renowned dishes. The new plant-based item will be available at select Panda Express locations throughout New York City and Los Angeles, while supplies last.

“Beyond The Original Orange Chicken is the next step in the brand’s journey to offer more diverse and plant-based options, while still delivering comfort and crave-ability in innovative ways,” stated Chef Jimmy Wang, Executive Director of Culinary Innovation at Panda Express. “Creating a fresh new take on a classic favorite is a great and accessible way to introduce plant-based proteins to our guests and perhaps even draw a new audience for Panda.”

“Our chicken game is just getting started,” Beyond Meat, which launched its chicken tenders in hundreds of restaurants through the United States last week, noted on its Facebook page.
