Update! The Race To Save Argon, The German Shepherd Abandoned In The Santa Monica Mountains

Peace 4 Animals and World Animal News recently had the honor of visiting Argon, the resilient German Shepherd who was tragically abandoned in the Santa Monica Mountains of Malibu. Left alone on a sweltering summer day, Argon was found with zip ties cruelly fastened around his mouth and neck.

Thankfully, Argon’s story took a positive turn when two compassionate hikers discovered him abandoned and rushed to his aid. He was taken to the vet for a thorough examination, where he received the heartbreaking news of a lymphoma diagnosis. On a brighter note, Argon is responding well to treatment, reigniting hope for his future and his journey toward recovery.

As WAN reported last month, Peace 4 Animals (P4A) and In Defense of Animals (IDA) initially offered a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the individual responsible for this act of cruelty. Thanks to the overwhelming support from the public, the reward has now increased to an impressive $25,000.

We want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to German Shepherd Rescue of Orange County for stepping up to foster Argon during his chemotherapy at Saddleback Animal Hospital. Their unwavering support has truly made a difference.

If you’re interested in fostering Argon or providing him with a loving forever home, please e-mail: info@gsroc.org

P4A and IDA are appealing to the public for any information that may lead to the identification, arrest, and conviction of the person responsible for this act of cruelty. If you have any information, please call (415) 879-6879.

You can help all animals and our planet by choosing compassion on your plate and in your glass. #GoVeg
