Frost Fund Saves Shelter Cats: Transporting Them To Nevada Rescue During California Wildfires

Brittnei Schaeffler, the visionary behind Frost Fund, is making substantial progress in addressing California’s shelter crisis. She launched a pivotal initiative to transport rescued cats from the overcrowded shelters of Los Angeles to a dedicated non-profit organization in Las Vegas. Recently, amidst the California wildfires, Frost Fund teamed up with Best Friends LA and Palmdale Animal Care Center to rescue cats from the Los Angeles area. These feline survivors were then transported to Homeward Bound Cats in Las Vegas, where they now reside in a free-roaming adoption center.

Initially founded in 2023 as the “Why Should You Care” project, Frost Fund has flourished under Schaeffler’s leadership, evolving into a registered 501(c)(3) organization. The foundation is committed to offering hope and resources to animals and their protectors, with its mission centered on education, advocacy, and support. Frost Fund has produced educational videos, conducted numerous “Red List Rescues” for animals at risk of euthanasia, and raised funds through collaborative events aimed at amplifying their reach and impact.
